Responsible Purchasing
Our commitment
Whan Amador Prestige Group buys only from suppliers who respect the environment and the people who work for them. We judge every purchase on these standards as well as on price, quality and reliability.
Our business depends on land, sea and trusted people: vineyards that stay healthy, a coastline that stays clean, and contractors who are treated fairly. Our suppliers are part of that, and we hold them to the same standards we hold ourselves.
Version 1.0. Approved by the Administrator. In force from 28 October 2026.
What it covers
This commitment applies across Whan Amador Prestige Group and our French vineyard and wine operations, and to everything we buy:
- vineyard inputs, equipment and field work
- wine production, bottling and packaging
- warehousing and transport across Europe
- property care, maintenance and concierge services in clients' homes
- yacht charter and on-board services
- marketing, filming, IT and office services
How we choose suppliers
We weigh environmental and social performance alongside price, quality and reliability, never price alone. We prefer local and regional suppliers where quality allows, and choose the lower-impact option when two offers are comparable. Every key supplier accepts our Supplier & Subcontractor Standards before working with us. We do not work with any supplier that uses forced or child labour, works unsafely or breaks environmental law, and we work with suppliers to put problems right before ending a relationship.
Caring for the environment
We ask our suppliers to:
- comply with all environmental law, including rules on plant protection products, waste and water
- reduce chemical use and protect soil and biodiversity in vineyard work
- reduce bottle weight, use recycled materials and cut packaging waste
- consolidate wine shipments and use lower-emission vehicles
- use eco-friendly cleaning products, save water and energy, and dispose of waste responsibly on land and at sea
Respecting people
We ask our suppliers and subcontractors to:
- pay at least the legal minimum wage, respect legal working hours and register workers correctly
- provide safe working conditions, protective equipment and training
- never use forced or child labour, and never tolerate harassment or discrimination
- respect workers' freedom of association and let them raise concerns without reprisal
In return, we pay our suppliers on time and on fair terms.
Our targets
Measured from a 2026 baseline.
| By | Target |
|---|---|
| 2027 | 100% of people who buy on our behalf trained in responsible purchasing |
| 2027 | 100% of subcontractors show proof of social security registration and insurance before starting work |
| 2028 | 100% of key suppliers have signed our Supplier & Subcontractor Standards |
| 2028 | 100% of key suppliers assessed on their environmental and social practices |
| 2028 | 95% of supplier invoices paid within the agreed term |
| 2030 | 75% of packaging spend on recycled or environmentally certified materials |
How we put it into practice
Before we appoint a key supplier, we check its registration, insurance and certifications. Key suppliers complete an environmental and social questionnaire every two years, and our contracts require them to follow our Standards. We keep a register of key suppliers and review progress against these targets every year.
Raise a concern
